Chicken Kizhi /Kerala Style Chicken Kizhi Recipe


ginger garlic paste-1tsp
green chilli-2
curry leaves-few
chilli powder-1/4tsp
turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
garam masala-1/4tsp
pepper powder-1/4 tsp
coconut oil
for marinating
pepper powder-1/2tsp
chilli powder-1tspn
turmeric powder -1/2 tspn
garam masala 1/2 tsp
ginger garlic paste 1/2 tsp
lemon juice-1tbspn
salt to taste


  1. Marinate the chicken with all the above ingredients about 1 to two hours
  2. Take a pan & do Shallow fry .Keep it aside
  3. add oil in a pan.once the oil is hot add the chopped onion.when it brownish add ginger & garlic paste,saute well up to the raw smell has this add chilly powder,& turmeric powder. saute well & add chopped Tomatoes.mash the tomatoes Cook it for 5 minutes then add fried chicken in to it . cook it for five minutes turn off the flame & add the curry leaves.
  4. take a banana leaf keep the prepared chicken gravy in to it & tie tightly.
  5. Take a pan keep it in the pan on low flame,turn the sides & serve with hot.
